Why am I getting an error message saying “Unable to establish multiple farm connections”?

The reason for this error message is that there is something that is preventing the agent on your machine from communicating with the farm. Often, this is a firewalling mechanism, either on your machine itself or on your network. Please insure that the agent is allowed access through the firewall on your machine. For firewalls on your network, you may need to enlist the help of your IT support staff to configure the device to allow the agent to communicate outbound to the farm. No inbound port mapping or forwarding is required.

On rare occasion, we have seen ISP’s filter or block our agent communication traffic. In that event, you’ll have to work those details out with your ISP.

Lastly, if you have the agent installed on a portable computer and are connected to a WiFi hotspot somewhere, it may not be the policy of that hotspot to allow Internet communication on non-standard TCP ports. You should try connecting to a different hotspot if you believe that to be the case.
